Parking Permits for Persons with Disabilities

The Town of Henrietta issues Parking Permits at no cost for any person living in Henrietta. These are the red or blue tags that hang from your rear view mirror. If you need accessible license plates, they are issued by the DMV.

Requirements:

  • Application for Parking Permit for Persons with Disabilities. This must be in paper form. Part 1 must be signed by the applicant. Part 2 must be completed and signed by your physician.
  • New York State Driver's License or Non-Driver ID (must be physical ID - not a photocopy or digital image). If your ID does not list your Henrietta address on the front, please bring a utility bill or piece of mail showing your residency in Henrietta.

Temporary permits (red) are issued up to six months. Permanent permits (blue) are issued for five years.

Yes, we understand that the person needing a Parking Permit may not be able to easily get around. If someone other than the person listed on the application form picks up the Parking Permit, they will just need to make sure the applicant has signed Part 1 of the application and be able to present the original (not a photocopy) Drivers License or Non-Driver ID for the person listed on the application.

If you have a BLUE Parking Permit tag previously issued by the Town of Henrietta, we will have your original application on file. To renew, bring in the current tag and your Drivers License or Non-Drivers ID and we will reissue a new tag for 5 years. You will not need to submit a new application form.

If you have a RED Parking Permit tag, you will need a new application form completed by your physician and it will be the same process as when you applied for the initial red Parking Permit.

If your Parking Permit is lost or stolen, please visit Town Hall to receive a replacement. You will need to show your original (not a photocopy) Drivers License or Non-Drivers ID.
